The weather in November in Santorini is unpredictable… in every sense! While it varies from year to year, it’s important to be prepared for sudden shifts in the weather.
The temperatures of the water and the air on our island are going down and it is interesting to note that the air cools down more quickly than the sea. In other words, water is warmer during the last month of autumn 🙂

However, the weather in Santorini during early November remains pleasant with enough sun for sunbathing and occasional swimming! As the month progresses, particularly in the latter half of November, there may be more clouds and a likelihood of rainfall, but there will also be clear and sometimes hot days.
The daytime temperature can range from +17 to +25 degrees Celsius on some days or even weeks, and it is difficult to predict for 100% when it will occur during the month: at the beginning, middle or end of the November.
What we can say for sure is that the nights on the island are already quite cool. It happens, of course, that even at night the air temperature does not fall below +20 degrees, but it’s still better to be prepared for temperatures as low as +16 degrees.

Unfortunately, during November the air over our island cools down noticeably faster – this is a fact. Santorini is a very small island, so the temperature of the air masses over it depends entirely on the sea and the environment.
On average, the temperature in November in Santorini is not breaking records: the weather in early November will enjoy you with sunny days and temperatures around +21 … +23 degrees in the shade.
During the second half of November, the temperature drops and can reach as low as +17 degrees Celsius. On average, the temperature during the day is around +19 degrees Celsius. It is important to note that these temperatures are not guaranteed, but they are highly likely.

In the second half of November, cool and overcast days occur more often, so a vacation by the sea in the last month of autumn is not the most attractive idea. Moreover, in November there are more winds on the island, which get stronger towards the end of the month: 6-7 meters per second is almost the norm.

Unfortunately, November in Santorini is one of the darkest months of the year. The amount of sunshine will decrease even further next month. On average, there are only 10 hours of sunshine per day:

The island receives an average of four centimetres of rainfall per month, which sometimes looks like a shallow but frequent and prolonged rainfall.
