Excursion details

What do a sunset, the sea, a sailing yacht and the island of Santorini have in common? That’s right! All of this is so romantic! So why not combine them all together? A sailing trip in Santorini with dinner at sea and a sunset… It is a wonderful trip that is sure to create beautiful memories, not to mention some exceptional photographs.

Evening sea breeze, wind, waves, the chance to admire the island and the volcanic caldera from the sea and, of course, the famous Santorini sunset – all without the crowds. Interested in a yacht trip? Then to the details, because this is the most interesting and romantic yacht trip in Santorini!

During this yacht trip you will see almost all the key sights of the Santorini caldera. The sailboat sets sail from the south of island, the captain takes a course to the west and northwest, and on the way you’re expected:

  • Red beach;
  • Aspri white beach;
  • Indian face Rock;
  • Black cliffs;
  • Akrotiri ancient lighthouse;
  • Hot springs;
  • Nea Kameni volcano and Palea Kameni;
  • Aspronisi island;
  • Mesa Pigadia black beach;
  • Sunset at the sea.

The yacht trip will be conducted on the Jeanneau 49 yacht. The number in the name also informs the size of this yacht – 49 feet, i.e. it is a rather large sailing yacht, which is nearly 15 meters long and takes on board up to 12 people. By the way, you can rent a yacht in Santorini (including this one) only for yourself and your company.

The sailboat is very comfortable and has spacious sitting areas aft and in the bow, not to mention the large saloon and cabins. However, you hardly want to be inside when you are surrounded by such beauty!

Sailing in Santorini: trip around the volcano’s caldera

The yacht trip begins from the port of Vlychada (Vlichada), which is located in the south of the island.

The first point on the route is the Red Beach area. The stop is about 30 minutes, giving you time to swim, snorkel and take pictures of one of the most unusual beaches from the sea. Then the yacht will go to the White Beach, where will be one more stop for swimming, also for about half an hour.

After swimming you can sunbathe directly on the deck of the yacht while the captain leads the sailboat along the shores of Santorini and the most famous sights of the caldera.

You will see the black cliffs, the Indian face Rock and the ancient Akrotiri lighthouse, after which the walk will continue in the heart of the caldera, the boat will go straight to the volcano Nea Kameni. There, in the healing waters of the hot springs, the next stop is scheduled: if you want to take pictures – you are welcome, if you want to swim – go ahead, but we warn you that the water in these places contains various dissolved substances from the depths of the planet, so… We don’t recommend to wear white swimsuits – just look at our photos and you’ll understand why 🙂

After swimming, our cruise continues as it rounds a volcano and stops near one of the secluded beaches: dinner time is coming, and it will be a dinner on the yacht in the open sea! While the crew cooks and sets the table, you can continue swimming in the sea.

Dinner at sea on a yacht usually consists of grilled seafood (fish fillets, shrimp, calamari, etc.), chicken fillets, Greek salads and appetizers. The meal is also accompanied by refreshments and local Santorinian white wine.

After dinner, the captain heads south, crosses the volcano’s caldera, passes along Aspronisi Island and sails to the next stop at the black beach of Mesa Pigadia. Time is nearing evening and the sun is setting.

Depending on the time of year, the sun goes down at different times. For example, the approximate sunset time in Santorini this week is 17:05. You can’t predict the weather in advance, but during the summer season there is every chance that you will see one of the most beautiful and amazing sunsets in the world out at sea on the snow-white deck of a yacht with a glass of wine in your hand.

The final location is the port of Vlychada, where the evening yacht trip ends. After the trip, the bus will take you to your hotel, apartment or villa.

Important details

Please read Cancellation and Refund policy.

In case there are less than 24 hours left before the trip, please book only after agreeing with the manager on availability.

Before going to sea, it is necessary to issue some special documents (forms with information regarding route, crew and all passengers). To do this, we need the full name (as in the passport), gender, age and citizenship of all participants. If you already have this information, you can write it in the comments field when placing an order.

You will receive your tickets by email or WhatsApp – whichever is more convenient for you.

Please keep all documents and tickets until the end of the trip!

It depends on the location of your hotel or villa. Some cities of Santorini are famous for their narrow streets, which are not so easy to walk even on foot. So in some cases you will need to walk to the main road, some nearest square or parking place, where a car or a tour bus can pick you up. If your hotel has good road access, then the transfer will be able to pick you up directly from the hotel.

After placing an order, you will receive detailed information about the place and time of the meeting, as well as all the necessary documents. Please read them carefully beforehand.

Santorini has a lot of sun and almost no shade during the spring and summer. You will definitely need some sun protection: sunscreen, glasses, hat and so on. If there is a possibility of motion sickness in transport, then we recommend taking the appropriate pills. Take your swimming accessories and warm clothes with you for the evening (it is quite fresh in the evening in the open sea, even on hot days). Also we advise you to take a dark-colored swimsuit if you plan to swim in hot springs. To walk along the volcano take comfortable shoes – flip-flops are not suitable for such a rocky area. You may want to buy something during your trip, so consider taking some cash with you for these extra expenses. You are required to have the original or copy/photo of your passport or ID card with you.

No, but it will be possible to dive from the yacht and swim in the sea a lot 🙂

There are no limitations. Please note that the yacht is anchored in the sea close to the beaches and hot springs, so you have to swim a short distance if you want to come ashore. If you’re not a confident swimmer, the crew will provide you with a lifejacket (the captain or his assistants will give it to you if necessary, they have everything on the boat)

The tour starts in afternoon, so you will have time to eat at the hotel.

Dinner on a yacht is included in the price of the trip.

The menu will include: grilled shrimp, grilled chicken, grilled fish fillets, fried calamari, two types of salad, Greek appetizers (fava, dolma), baked potatoes. The meal will be accompanied by water, unlimited soft drinks and white Santorinian wine.

No, but the yacht crew excellent speaks English and will tell you about the places during the sailing trip.

Rather, it will be colorful – it’s a yacht cruise for views and impressions.

The main language of the tour is English.
