Excursion details

Black cliffs, white cities, deep blue sea and snow-white sails are all waiting for you on this sea cruise! The yacht tour in Santorini will take place not only along the shores of the island, but also inside the volcano’s caldera. The sailboat will glide along the waves from one beach to the other, from one interesting sight to the next one.

A trip along the caldera is a great opportunity to see the island of Santorini from the water, to get close to the volcano Nea Kameni and to swim in the hot thermal springs of Palea Kameni. And lunch at sea? That’s great!

You will see all key sights of the caldera :

  • Red beach;
  • Aspri white beach;
  • Indian face Rock;
  • Black cliffs;
  • Ancient lighthouse in Akrotiri;
  • Hot springs;
  • Nea Kameni volcano and Palea Kameni;
  • Aspronisi island;
  • Mesa Pigadia black beach.

This sea excursion is conducted on a large comfortable yacht Jeanneau 49. Forty-nine is the boat’s length in feet: at your disposal will be a sailboat of almost 15 meters in length! The yacht can take up to 12 people on board, and there is plenty of room on deck for relaxing and sunbathing, and during beach stops you can swim directly into the open sea. By the way, you can rent a yacht in Santorini (including this one) only for yourself and your company.

Sailing excursion in Santorini: a white sailboat in the dark waters of the volcanic caldera

The yacht excursion starts at the port of Vlychada (Vlichada), on the southern tip of island. In the morning a transfer will bring you there from your hotel or villa and you will be taken aboard a sailing boat. Once the group is assembled, the captain takes the yacht out to the sea and the journey begins!

The first point on the route is the area of the Red Beach. This unusual place is characterized by red rocks and red-black sand, and the sea here sometimes takes on a green hue. We drop anchor at the bottom and those who wish can swim in the open sea! The stop will last about half an hour to allow you to swim to the beach and come ashore.

The next point is the White Beach of Santorini, where the yacht will also anchor for half an hour. You can spend your free time both on the yacht and in the sea, if you did not have time to swim at the previous beach.

After a visit to the beaches we will have our first long sea crossing: the sailboat will pass along the black rocks and the peninsula of Akrotiri with the lighthouse, then the tour will continue in the caldera of Santorini, and the captain will keep the course to the volcano Nea Kameni and the hot springs of Palea Kameni. This is a very unusual place: the volcano heats the sea water, which dissolves an incredible amount of a variety of substances from the bowels of the earth. The water here is both green and brown. Do you want to swim? Be careful: white swimsuits can quickly stop being white and become enriched with salts and minerals 🙂

During the anchorage you will be offered a seafood menu (fish fillets, shrimps, calamari…), traditional salads and appetizers, as well as refreshments and Santorinian white wine.

After lunch, the yacht will head south and sail along the island of Aspronisi to the south coast of Santorini, where one more stop is planned. This time the black volcanic beach of Mesa Pigadia awaits you. The yacht will spend about half an hour in this area, after which the captain will take the sailboat back to the port of Vlychada. At the end of the journey, a bus will take you to your hotel.

Important details

Please read Cancellation and Refund policy.

In case there are less than 24 hours left before the trip, please book only after agreeing with the manager on availability.

Before going to sea, it is necessary to issue some special documents (forms with information regarding route, crew and all passengers). To do this, we need the full name (as in the passport), gender, age and citizenship of all participants. If you already have this information, you can write it in the comments field when placing an order.

You will receive your tickets by email or WhatsApp – whichever is more convenient for you.

Please keep all documents and tickets until the end of the trip!

It depends on the location of your hotel or villa. Some cities of Santorini are famous for their narrow streets, which are not so easy to walk even on foot. So in some cases you will need to walk to the main road, some nearest square or parking place, where a car or a tour bus can pick you up. If your hotel has good road access, then the transfer will be able to pick you up directly from the hotel.

After placing an order, you will receive detailed information about the place and time of the meeting, as well as all the necessary documents. Please read them carefully beforehand.

Santorini has a lot of sun and almost no shade during the spring and summer. You will definitely need some sun protection: sunscreen, glasses, hat and so on. If there is a possibility of motion sickness in transport, then we recommend taking the appropriate pills. Take your swimming accessories and warm clothes with you for the evening (it is quite fresh in the evening in the open sea, even on hot days). Also we advise you to take a dark-colored swimsuit if you plan to swim in hot springs. To walk along the volcano take comfortable shoes – flip-flops are not suitable for such a rocky area. You may want to buy something during your trip, so consider taking some cash with you for these extra expenses. You are required to have the original or copy/photo of your passport or ID card with you.

No, but it will be possible to dive from the yacht and swim in the sea a lot 🙂

There are no limitations. Please note that the yacht is anchored in the sea close to the beaches and hot springs, so you have to swim a short distance if you want to come ashore. If you’re not a confident swimmer, the crew will provide you with a lifejacket (the captain or his assistants will give it to you if necessary, they have everything on the boat)

The menu will include: grilled shrimp, grilled chicken, grilled fish fillets, fried calamari, two types of salad, Greek appetizers (fava, dolma), baked potatoes. The meal will be accompanied by water, unlimited soft drinks and white Santorinian wine.

No, but the yacht crew excellent speaks English and will tell you about the places during the yacht trip.

Rather, it will be colorful – it’s a yacht cruise for views and impressions.

The main language of the tour is English.
