The bus service in Santorini is provided by KTEL company, and the route connecting the island’s capital with the only airport is one of the most popular routes in Santorini!
The distance from Fira to the island’s airport is very short, only five kilometers. However, during the high season, the bus may encounter a traffic jam of sightseeing buses at the exit of Fira, so that the trip may take up to 20 minutes. We recommend that you take this into account when planning your journey.
Buses from the airport have plenty of room for luggage, either under the main passenger area or on the inside shelves. All buses departing from the airport go directly to the bus station in Fira. To reach other villages (Firostefani, Imerovigli, Oia, Kamari, Perissa, Perivolos, Akrotiri, etc.), leave the bus in Fira, buy another ticket and take the next bus. You can’t make a trip like this on a public bus without making a connection in Fira. During the high season, an additional bus may operate between the airport and the seaport. However, it is advisable not to rely on it.

All Santorini bus routes connect at one point, the main bus station in the island’s capital. This is also where all the routes start.
Please note that the bus from Fira to the airport does not make any other stops on the way! If you do not have a lot of luggage, you can also get to the airport by bus Fira – Monolithos, which runs a short distance from Santorini airport.
If you have a lot of luggage, it is advisable to arrive at the bus station early to ensure that you can safely stow your belongings in the luggage compartment. During the season all the buses going to the airport are very often overcrowded.
By the way, if you want to get to Koutsougianopoulos Wine Museum, you can also take this line, just don’t forget to inform the driver that you need to get off the buss a little earlier. The bus route from Fira to the airport on the map of Santorini:

- All buses in Santorini take their routes from there and return there as well.
